Mr. James Hyde Wilson, Sr., 87, of Winston-Salem, died Monday, October 14, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

He was born on May 21, 1937, in Forsyth County, to the late George Harold and Pearl Mae Savage Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church and he retired from Georgia-Pacific after working there for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Hyde Wilson, Jr.; a daughter, Sandra Lynn Wilson; a brother, George Follett Wilson; and a sister, Ann Wilson Oliver.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Sue McNab Wilson of the home; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2024, at Salemtowne Saal Community Center, 190 Moravian Way Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27106, with Rev. Kevin Frack officiating. The family invites friends to visit with them at the Saal Community Center following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be considered to Cornerstone Christian Church, 1585 NC Hwy 801 N., Mocksville, NC 27028, memo: Stone by Stone Fund.
