TAYLOR MOCKSVILLE – Mr. James Howard Taylor, 83, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at his home. He was born September 26, 1938, in Iredell County, to the late Jessie Lee and Bertha Mae Taylor Taylor. Howard retired in 2000, from PPG of Lexington after 32 years of employment. He was of the Christian faith and attended Cleveland First Baptist Church. Howard enjoyed traveling, and riding his motorcycle, including many long-distance trips with his wife, Cathy and friends, John, Wayne, and Steve. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, B. J. Lanier; and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Cathryn Taylor; children, David Taylor (Rhonda), of Mocksville, Dianne Lanier (John) of Advance, and Rebecca Taylor of Mocksville; grandchildren, Samuel Watson, Amy Masten (Daniel) , and Dakota Watson; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Smith. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, November 15, at Lambert Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dustin James officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
