Mr. James Tay Rogers, 45, of Woodleaf, died Saturday, March 25, 2023, at his home.

He was born December 28, 1977, in Rowan County. Tay had been employed by Food Lion. He attended South River United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men, and worked in the food pantry. Tay loved baseball and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Peggy Bringle; and paternal grandparents, Everette and Nettie Rogers.

Survivors include his children, Malana Rogers and Corbin Rogers; ex-wife, Mary Grace Rogers; mother, Susan Bringle Cranford (Don); father, Richard Rogers (Cosandra); sister, Kimberly "Shelly" Rogers (Larry); stepbrothers, Kevin Cranford (Melissa), Hunter Hinson, and Terry Hinson; special aunt, Kim Basinger; niece, Kaelyn Lottes (Brandon); great-aunts, Gladys Hall, Ann Honeycutt, and Carol Bringle; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family; and his beloved dog, Chaffin.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, at South River Methodist Church with Mr. Tim Kelty officiating.
