James Lee "J. L." Montgomery, 46, of Winston-Salem, died Wednesday, December 7, 2022, in Winston-Salem.

He was born July 13, 1976, in Elizabeth City.

J. L. was preceded in death by his father, James Devitt Montgomery, Sr.; and a brother, James. D. Montgomery, Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Kim Montgomery; children, Wesley Devitt Montgomery (Mackenzie), of Seneca, SC, Ryker Lee Montgomery, and Evie Alaine Montgomery, both of Prince George, VA; siblings, Ryan Montgomery (Brittani), Briana Keller (Josh), all of Mocksville, and David Karl Montgomery (Kelly) of Sanford; granddaughter, Charley Elizabeth Montgomery; and grandparents, Ralph and Naomi Phillips.
