Obituary

Mr. James Edward "Eddie" Ijames Jr., of Mocksville, departed this life July 17, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

He was born February 17, 1972, in Mocksville, to Bishop James Edward Ijames, Sr. and the late Josephine H. Ijames. Eddie graduated from Davie High School in 1990, and attended North Carolina State University. He worked at Kaydon, later Ingersoll-Rand for many years, and was also a small business owner.

Eddie had a great passion for music, he wrote and produced an album in 2019. He also loved spending time with his dogs, barbecuing and gardening.

Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Ijames.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his partner, Celena Kelly; daughter, Alexis Bohannon; father, James Edward Ijames, Sr.; a brother, Jason Ijames (Nicole); a sister, Minister Valerie Ijames Scott (Frank); numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of cousins and friends who called him, "brother."

Eddie's smile and laugh were infectious. His raised eyebrows spoke many words. He was kind-hearted and witty. Eddie's sense of humor brought life to any situation. His hugs were welcoming and comforting. Eddie's heart knew no boundaries.

A close friend described him as, "smart, talented and gifted. He was kind, giving and always had a creative vision in life. He was simply a great friend and brother to many!"
