Henry Lee 'Buster' Peebles was born June 20, 1950 in Davie County, son of the late Ernest Gene and Mary Crews Peebles. At an early age he joined Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church. He graduated from Davie High School in 1968. He had worked at Jeffco and Hanes, before working at VJ Jeanswear for more than twenty-five years, from which he retired. Buster loved softball, basketball, football, auto racing, and talking with family and friends. He also loved watching over the church and helping with various church duties. On Saturday, May 2, 2015, he died at Forsyth Medical Center. Although he died not having children of his own, his nephews and nieces were like his own children. This legacy includes Anthony, Brittany, Kiah, Karmen, Amber, Anyas, and Jeremiah, who loved Buster like a father. Also surviving are two devoted sisters, Ernestine Holman of Clemmons and Katie (Lester) Arnold of Mocksville; one aunt, Ida Alby; other relatives and friends.
