Gwendolyn Hosch Hunter was born in Davie County on August 2, 1931, daughter of the late Will and Maudie Johnson Hosch. She attended Rowan County Schools and graduated from R.A. Clement High School. At an early age she joined Boxwood Baptist Church. She was married to John Calvin Hunter. To this union three children were born. 'Gwen' became disabled early in life, and spent the majority of her life in assisted living. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by fourteen siblings. On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, she died in A New Outlook Assisted Living in Taylorsville, NC. Survivors include one son, John Hunter of Detroit, MI; two daughters, Carolyn Hunter and Renee Hunter both of Detroit, MI; one brother, Graham Hosch of Mocksville; two sisters, Doris Grier of Salisbury and Bernice Peebles of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
