Glenver "Glen" Wade
Shrewsbury
Jul 28, 1961 — Jun 15, 2025
Glenver "Glen" Wade Shrewsbury, 63, of Mocksville, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his home.
He was born July 28, 1961, in Mullens, WV, to the late Hershel Edward and Violet Mae Roberts Shrewsbury.
Glen loved his family and his children dearly. Some of his favorite past-times were bird watching, NASCAR, fishing, and feeding the deer. The only deer he shot was with his camera. He loved the outdoors, and traveling to every state in the country. You could often find him sitting on the back porch watching his "maters grow." Glen was always having a "large time" with everyone that he met but most of all his nine grandchildren. He was affectionally known as the snack dealer bringing snacks everywhere he went to pass out to all the babies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Laxton; and two brothers-in-law, Gordon Craft, and Fred Lilly.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Cynthia "Cyndi" Ann Compton Shrewsbury; children, Derek Wade Shrewsbury of Charlotte, Tiffany Ann Hendrix (Kevin), Candice Kay Reed, and Renea Dawn Baker (Wes), all of Advance; siblings, Nyoka Craft, Danny Laxton (Shelma), Joyce Lilly, Harold Shrewsbury (Bobbi), and Darrell Shrewsbury (Mary); grandchildren, Aiden Reed, Zoe Hendrix, Gavin Hendrix, Harper Lucy Hendrix, Ezra Hendrix, Tyler Glen Frye, Lilliann Reed, Chloe Reed, and Wade Reed; his very special aunt, Velda Marie "Sis" Jones; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, June 20, at Lambert Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Keat Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Farmington Community Cemetery. The family invites friends to visit with them at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
