Gladys Ceola Turner Ramseur, affectionately known as 'Twomama,' was born in Iredell County on March 1, 1922, to the late Ferbie and Ossie Turner. She attended Piney Grove Elementary School in Harmony, NC. She was employed as a cook at Country Kitchen and later opened a daycare in her home. At an early age Gladys gave her life to Christ at Piney Grove AME Zion Church. Later in life she joined Chestnut Grove Baptist Church where she served on the Nurse's Aide Ministry, Kitchen Committee, Senior Mission, Spiritual Choir, and Senior Choir. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, the late John Ervin Ramseur; one daughter, Willie Belle Oakley; four sisters, Lois Neely, Raquel Bailey, Elizabeth James, Mary Helen Brown; and two brothers, John Ardrey Turner and Kevin Ervin Turner. She departed this life on December 25, 2013 at age 91. 'Twomama' leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Nannie Ernestine James and Barbara Jean Gaither of Statesville, and Audrey Denise Ramseur of Virginia Beach, VA; one son, Dennis Ervin Ramseur of Statesville; eleven grandchildren, Michelle (Charles) Kirby, Belinda Gaither, LaToya (Tim) Keaton, Rosalind Mayfield, Alton (Rana) Gaither III, Damien James, Derrick Wilson, Malika Walls, Brian Foote, S. Jamel Knox, Sr., Jaylan Brice; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special friends, Annette Blackburn, Catherine Almond and Pat Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
