Gary James "Jim" Ivester, 82, of Mocksville, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born February 23, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Henry Emroy and Wilma Lee Patterson Ivester. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Ivester; children, Donna Ivester Blackwelder (Dale), and Michael James Ivester (Lisa); siblings, Joyce Burnette (Richard), Nancy Whitaker (Jerry), and Ronald Ivester; grandchildren, Tessa Ivester Moyer (Jacob), and Emma Grace Ivester; and a great-grandson, James Robert Moyer

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 12, at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Carter officiating. The family invites friends to visit with them in the church one hour prior to the service.
