Frances Coralee Lazenby Houpe, 81, of Statesville, transitioned Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House.

She was born November 22, 1944, in Iredell County, to the late Arthur Francis and Mary Helen Turner Lazenby. Mrs. Houpe graduated from Atkins High School in 1962. She had worked as an accountant for Statesville Housing Authority and Blankenship Chiropractic Clinic.

Mrs. Houpe was a member of St. Peter's World Outreach Center in Winston-Salem where she as a member of the Mother's Board and the Ultimate Marriage Ministry. She enjoyed being a homemaker and filled her days making works of art through crocheting, knitting, sewing, cross-stitching, jewelry making, and baking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Houpe; and a brother, Johnnie Lazenby.

Survivors include children, Cynthia H. Smith, Willard Houpe, and Kennard Houpe; siblings, William Lazenby (Faye), Richard Lazenby (Rachel), Margaret Lazenby, Leonard Lazenby, Herbert Brown, Jr., Rita Lazenby, and Robert Lazenby; grandchildren, Cynthia Q. White, Quintin R. White (Stephanie), Michelle Austin, and Randy Honaker; great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m., Thursday, January 15, at St. Peter's World Outreach Center, Winston-Salem. The family invites friends to visit with them at the church one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, January 16, at Iredell Memorial Park, Statesville.
