Fannie Emma Grant
Bodford
Mar 9, 1931 — Feb 2, 2024
"The moment we take our last breath on earth, we take our first in heaven." (Billy Graham)
Mrs. Fannie Emma Grant Bodford, 92 of Mocksville did just that and went to her heavenly home Friday, February 2, 2024.
She was born on March 9,1931, to the late Perry and Emma Grant in Forsyth County. Mrs. Bodford graduated from Clemmons High School and was married to the "love of her life," Bobby Gray Bodford. Always working side by side, they owned and operated Jonestown Food Market in Winston-Salem. Following its closure, she was Bob's helpmate on the dairy farm. Mrs. Bodford was a devoted Christian, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family and friends will always remember her delicious scrambled egg and cheese sandwiches, green pea salad, persimmon pudding, and coconut cake.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; and a brother, P. H. Grant.
Survivors include two sons, Gray Bodford (Wanda) and Eddie Bodford (Debbie); five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A public graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, Clemmons, with Rev. Darrell Cox officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
