Mrs. Everine Carson Rivers, 85, of 114 Etchison Street, Mocksville, NC, went to her eternal rest on Monday, February 23, 2015. Born September 13, 1929 to the late Charlie and Lillie Mae White Carson in Carnesville, Franklin County, Georgia, she graduated from the Franklin County School System in Carnesville, GA and attended Beulah Rucker Vocational School in Gainesville, GA where she studied education. Everine was united in holy matrimony to Charlie Ray Rivers on March 13, 1948, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and traveling, especially going to Atlantic City. As a faithful member of Mt. Zion Holiness Church, Mrs. Rivers served on several boards, last as a Deaconess. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rivers was preceded in death by two children, Harold Rivers and Vickie Rivers; her siblings, Lula Mae Williamson, Elease Young, Garland Carson, Lenzie Carson and Willie Carson. Everine, also affectionately called 'Nana', leaves to cherish memories, her husband, Charlie Ray Rivers, of the home; daughters, Sarah Rivers of Winston-Salem and Gloria (Richard) Pruitt of Mocksville, special daughter Patricia Rivers Taborn (Ron) of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Tammy, Kimberly, and Larria Cunningham, Harold Keith, Anthony, and Tina Rivers; Amanda Pruitt, Candace (Terrick) Heckstall, and David Pruitt; Jose, Alisha, William, and Hubert Rivers; her siblings, Alice Rucker, Louis Carson, Marie Carson, Barbara Dubose, George Law, James Henry Carson, and Leon Carson; 16 great-grandchildren and a hosts of other relatives and friends.
