Advance Eugene Dalton, III, was born December 19, 1960, in Flushing, New York, son of Elsie Ruth Dalton and the late Eugene Dalton. He graduated from Malverne High School in 1979 and attended Farmingdale University in Long Island, NY. At the age of fourteen, he was added to the Church of Christ. His employment included being a maintenance worker at the voting polls in Nasau County New York. Upon moving to North Carolina, he was the sole proprietor of the 4th Street PX in Winston-Salem, NC. He was also manager of 4 Brothers Convenience Store/Beroth Oil Company in Winston-Salem. 'Gene,' was an avid bowler, and competed in non-profit bowling tournaments including Tours for Tots. He was very committed to his mother, brother, and other family members and friends. He never hesitated to help anyone in need, regardless of his status. He had a longtime pet, 'Willie,' who now lives with his best friend, Justin. On Sunday, January 15, 2012, he died at Davie County Hospital. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Ruth Dalton of the home; one brother, Cedric Dalton of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister, Wanda Barker of Cleveland, OH; one nephew, with whom he was especially close, Solomon Dalton; one great-nephew, Myon Dalton; two great-nieces, Tatiana Dalton and Aaliyah Dalton all of New Mexico; a number of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
