Dorothy Cortesi, 69, died peacefully on Aug. 15 in Gordon Hospice Home in Statesville. She was born Oct. 22, 1941 in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Chicago and was an active supporter of the Civil Rights Movement in the 60's. She loved art, music, and Notre Dame football. For the past twenty years she made her home in Mocksville in the Center community. She is survived by her long time partner of Mocksville, Jack Reichardt; two sons, Mark (Brynn) Cortesi and Patrick (Susan) Cortesi both of Bloomington, IL; one daughter, Jennifer (Jim) Cortesi of Valporaiso, IN; three grandchildren, Angelo, Simitri, and Lexi.
