Donald Hartgrove Smith, 78, of Mocksville, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, November 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 13, 1944, in Stokes County, to the late Wilbur and Irma Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired chemist from RJR in Winston-Salem.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Campbell Smith; and his eldest son, Erik Christopher Smith.

Survivors include his sons, Jason Smith (Dara) of Morgan Hill, CA, and Dusty Smith (Kim) of Mocksville; grandchildren, Austin, Hayleigh, Claire, Macey, Ella, Ethan, Andrew, and Cole; and sisters, Sharon Snow (Rusty) of Walnut Cove, and Vicki Fair (Dee) of Lewisville.

The family invites friends to a time of gathering from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, November 11, at Lambert Funeral Home.
