Dewey Ervin Gray was born March 17, 1962, in Rowan County, son of the late John E. and Doris Mayfield Gray. He graduated from West Rowan High School and at an early age he attended Erwin Temple CME Church. Dewey, affectionately called 'Dew Drop,' loved to work on cars and attend car races. On August 29, 2016 he died at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He is survived by one daughter, Lucinda Geter of Asheville; two grandchildren, Keionna Geter and Christian Romero; one brother, Kenny Gray of Woodleaf; one sister, Jennifer (Michael) White of Cooleemee; a grandmother, Lizzie Mayfield of Cooleemee; a number of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
