Obituary

Ms. Cynthia E. Payne, age 51, daughter of Thelma Louise Payne and the late William Henry Payne, Sr., was born in Rowan County, NC on April 29, 1959. She departed this life on February 8, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. Cynthia attended Rowan County Schools and graduated from West Rowan Sr. High School in 1977. She was employed by Performance Fibers in Salisbury, NC. A lifelong and faithful member of Erwin Temple CME Church in Woodleaf, NC, she was a devoted member of the Missionary Committee. Cynthia loved her pastor, the church family, and all of God's children. Cynthia enjoyed spending time with family & friends, sitting outside appreciating the beauty of nature, and she loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She always had a beautiful smile, a helping hand, and strong words of encouragement for everyone. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, William Henry Payne, Sr., a sister, Angela D. Payne, and a nephew, Kevin A. Howell. Cynthia leaves to remember and cherish her life and love, her mother, Thelma L. Payne; one son, Tyler D. Payne, one daughter, Teneill J. Payne (Javon Myers-Fianc), and one granddaughter, Tristan Myers all of Salisbury; one grandson, Alexander C. Ellison (Lex) of Anderson, SC; one step-grandchild, Khari Myers; two brothers, William H. Payne, Jr. (Sheila) and Glenn A. Payne, both of Salisbury; seven sisters, Debra P. Neely, Marcia P. Neely, Lisa V. Payne, and Tammy L. Payne, all of Salisbury, NC, and Rosalind C. Payne, Sarah Howell, and Sonya (Stephen) Hilliard of Mocksville, NC; several other relatives and many friends.
