Clarence Lloyd Hawks, 73, of Mt. Airy, died Monday, October 18, 2021. Clarence was born August 1, 1948, in Surry County to the late Carroll Gray Hawks, Sr. and Christine Walker Hawks. He was a member of Lambsburg Baptist Church. Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had worked for McLean Trucking and American Audit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Gray Hawks, Jr. He is survived by a daughter, Shanna Hawks Stoltz (Ethan); a granddaughter, Ava Lane Stoltz; brother, Ronald W. Hawks, Sr. (Salena); special niece, Amanda Lukas (Roger); nephews, Andrew Hawks and Ronald W. Hawks, Jr.; and the love of his life, Brenda Bailey. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. The family invites friends to come by Lambert Funeral Home from 2 - 6 p.m., Sunday, October 24, to pay their respects.
