Obituary

Charles William Redman was born in Iredell County on March 18, 1931, son of Vera M. Redmon and the late Willie G. Redmon. He graduated from Unity High School, and moved to Paterson, NJ, and continued his education in business administration. He joined Deliverance Tabernacle Church, where he was a member of the Deacon Board, and The Brotherhood. He was first married to Willie Mae Grinton. He later married Isabelle Hall. He had worked at Hugh Chatham Hospital and was a truck driver for over twenty years with North American Van Lines. 'Bo,' loved to sing, travel, and sight-see. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willie G. Redman, and a son, Gordon Redman. On February 13 he died at Iredell Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Redman of Grace Nursing Home in Winston-Salem; two sons, Jason Redmon of New Jersey and Josh of Washington, D.C; four daughters, Sharon Redmon of Yadkinville, Mena Charlene R. Beard of Greensboro, Boucha R. Brown of Winston-Salem, and Elaine Redmon of NJ; his mother, Vera Redmon of Yadkinville; several step-children he raised; grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Brandy Nicole, Michael Adrian, Shane Michael Redmon, Michaiah Danielle Redmon, Adrian Kierre Redmon, Damaris Brown, Brandy Brown, Joseph Brown, and Shutare Beard; two brothers, David Redmon of Mocksville and Thomas Redmon of Yadkinville; two sisters, Amy Redmon of Patterson, NJ and Nancy Redmon of Yadkinville; a number of nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Gordon Keith Redmon and Dennis Michael Redmon; special nieces, Kathy Redmon and Nakima Redmon both of New Jersey; other relatives and friends.
