Charles "Chuckie" Melvin Clement, Jr., 64, of Mocksville, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

He was born July 20, 1961, in Davie County.

Chuckie was a part of the graduating class of 1979 at Davie County High School. He took part in National Guard service early in life.  Chuckie was a volunteer firefighter for 40 years at Smith Grove Fire Department. He worked many years for T & L Trucking. Many in the community knew Chuckie from his appearances on his bicycle in the Mocksville Christmas Parade- this year would have been his 50th year participating in the parade. When seen in the community or out and about, Chuckie always had a smile on his face and had the gift of cheering people up.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy Hicks Clement of the home; two sons, Scottie Nelson, and Kentrell Tatum; a stepson, Josh Chunn (Shelby); two brothers, Tommy Howard (Robin), and Ben Hiatt (Christine); three "sisters", Matilda Gray (Henry), Genene Dobbins (Paschal), and Dreama Eastwood (Jon); two brothers-in-law, Scott Hicks (Tammy), and Stacy Hicks; a grandson, Kabryn; a granddaughter, Amelia; three step grandchildren, Leon, Alex, and Levi; his k-9 companion, Bella; special cousins, Lisa Carson, and Phillip Blackwell; and too many friends to mention.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 9, at Lambert Funeral Chapel, Mocksville, with Rev. Greg McEwen, Rev. Rodney Barker, and Mr. Tim Dunn officiating. The family invites friends to visit with them at the Funeral Home immediately following the service.
