Cementhia Taran Smith, 63, of Mocksville, died Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.

She was born January 24, 1962, in Davie County. Taran was a member of Cornatzer Baptist Church. She had worked for Hunter Publishing Company as a proof reader.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Talmadge "Popeye" Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Ella Barney Smith; siblings, Dwayne Smith (Lesa), Shanda Smith, and Vanessa Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 12, at Cornatzer Baptist Church, with Rev. Ottis Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family invites friends to visit with them at the church one hour prior to the service.
