Bobby Eugene White was born in Iredell County on July 30, 1948, son of the late Will and Velma Dalton White. He attended Davie County Public Schools and was a painter by trade. He was a member of New Jerusalem Apostolic Church, and loved to sing and attend gospel singing programs. Basketball was his favorite sport. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Dalton and Geneva White; six brothers, Henry White, Jimmy Lee White, Charles White, Gilbert White, and twins James D. and John C. White. On Tuesday, September 18, 2012, he died at his home following an extended illness. He is survived by one brother, Robert White of Salisbury; three sisters, Margaret Ijames, Edna Hairston, and Carolyn Hairston all of Mocksville; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
