Bishop Tony Dallas Glenn Williams was born on November 6, 1962 in Mocksville, North Carolina to the late Charlie T. Williams and Mary F. Williams. Bishop Williams spent his formative years in Mocksville. At an early age, he joined Fairfield Baptist Church in Mocksville. As an adult, he was baptized in Files Chapel Baptist Church in Lexington, N.C. by the late Reverend F.D. Betts. He attended and graduated from Davie County High School in 1981. Upon graduating, in July, 1981, Bishop Williams moved to Winston Salem, N.C. Bishop Williams joined New Faith Chapel in Winston-Salem under the leadership of Bishop L.S. Tate. He served in the church ministry as an usher and within a short period of time Bishop Williams was appointed to the position of church trustee. September 11, 1983, was a great day for Bishop Williams. It was on that day that he heard and accepted the call from God to preach His word. On December 15, 1984, Bishop Williams married the great love of his life, the late First Lady Sally E. Williams. She was the daughter of the late Deacon Albert Ervin Sr. and Mother Amell Ervin. After a brief honeymoon, Bishop Williams eagerly returned to continue to serve in the ministry. Bishop Williams was appointed as the ruling Elder of the New Faith Chapel Jurisdiction in November 1987. He was later appointed as the Co-Pastor for the Open Door Apostolic Church in Winston-Salem in April 1988. The host Pastor and Mother was C.L. Acker. As his ministry continued, Bishop Williams was appointed as New Faith Chapel Overseer in February 1989. He served as a member of the Crusade Outreach for Lost Souls, and a member of the Prayer Warrior Team. As Bishop Williams' ministry grew, so did his family. On January 9, 1993 Bishop Williams daughter, Shauntes Williams, was born. Bishop Williams served as the Pastor of the Open Door Apostolic Church from 1990-2011. In 2013 Bishop Williams recognized a need in the community, so he founded the Greater Works Crusade. Bishop Williams preached the word of God across several states, while simultaneously preaching and teaching in numerous churches and organizations. In 2018 he was appointed to the position of Bishop of Evangelism in the Greater Church of Deliverance. On October 1, 2018 God called Bishop Williams to his heavenly home. Bishop Tony Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Sally E. Williams; his father, Charlie T. Williams; father-in-law, Albert Ervin Sr.; and a sister, Fredia W. Chambers. Bishop Williams leaves behind his loving daughter, Shauntes Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Mary F. Williams; mother-in-law, Amell Ervin; brother, M. Craig (Cheryl) Williams; sister, Deitra P.C. (Quinton) Floyd; brother, Timothy F.S. Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, his church families, his special god-children, friends and family in Christ, and the community. May he rest in peace.
