Obituary

Mrs. Beulah Mae Holland Redmond was born February 3, 1923 in Iredell County. She was the daughter of the late Oddie and Angieline Leach Holland. She attended Iredell County Schools and joined Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined Moores Chapel AME Zion Church where she was a faithful dedicated member until her health declined. She was also a member of the choir. On March 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to the late Andrew Redmond for over fifty years. To this union seven children were born. For thirty one years she worked as a cook at Millers Restaurant. She loved cooking, fishing, working in her garden, and caring for children. She was preceded in death by one son, James 'Sleepy' Redmond; a son-in-law, Alvin Mayfield, Sr.; one granddaughter, Latasha Imes; six brothers and one sister. She departed this life on Friday, November 22, 2013. She is survived by five sons, George (Alfreda) Redmond of Woodleaf, Willie Ray (Molly) Redmond of Harmony, Wesley Redmond, Charles Redmond, and Macco (Sharon) Redmond all of Mocksville; one daughter, Savannah Mayfield of Mocksville; twenty grandchildren, one of whom she raised, Latisha Brooks Horne; forty-three great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
