Obituary

Mrs. Betty Lou Johnson Harris, 87, of the Farmington Community, died Saturday, January 7, 2023, at her home.

She was born September 16, 1935, in Davie County, to the late Frank and Mary Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby J. Harris; brothers, William Johnson and Jimmy Johnson; and a great-great-grandson, Syllis Renegar.

Surviving are her three daughters Debbie Sigmon (Tim), Luann White (William "Blue"), and Kathy "Hoppy" Craver (Joe); a son, Stewart Harris; a brother, Ed Johnson (Carolyn); a sister Patsy Smith; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Betty and Bobby were married for over 64 years. She had four children of her own but nurtured many of her nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty loved being outside, reading her Bibles, country music and had quite the sweet tooth. She worked as a nurses assistant at Meadow Brook Manor and the Blumenthal Jewish Home in Clemmons for over 15 years. Betty will be remembered for her project managing at her property, her servant's heart, her generous spirit and making us all laugh with her sense of humor.

God truly blessed us with our Mother and we are grateful to Him for her 87 years.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A private celebration of life will be held at later date.
