Mrs. Betty Lou Akers Edwards, 76, of Mocksville, died Friday, December 4, 2020, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born May 6, 1944, in Pulaski, VA, to the late Sherman Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Manual Akers. Mrs. Edwards was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a true love of life and had a special gift of getting everyone to smile. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Edwards; a grandson, Richard Lee Michael; and sisters, Bonnie Wilson and Colleen Shell. Survivors include daughters, Donna Bailey (Troy) and Tammy Mitcham; a grandson, Billy Edwards; sister, Violet Kress; and a great-niece, Angel Cook.
