Mr. Benjamin Jeffery "Jeff" Brewbaker, 63, of Du Bois, IL, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, October 12, 2023, in Alabama.
He was born June 18, 1960, and grew up in the foothills and woodlands of Huntsville, NC. Jeff served in the U.S. Navy for four years, the U.S. Air Force for eight years, and finished his career serving our country with retirement from the Illinois Air National Guard. He was a man of faith and a loving father and grandfather. Jeff instilled his love of God, rock and roll, and hunting in his children and grandchildren. As an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he was an advocate for environment and wildlife preservation. Jeff exemplified strong work ethic his whole life, and he was an irreplaceable leader and work colleague.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lanier Brewbaker; and his mother, Mary Sue Hayes Brewbaker Kent.
Survivors include his children, Evan Lanier Brewbaker of Williamsport, IN and Randi Lee Brewbaker of Oklahoma City, OK; mother of his children and lifelong love, Lorrie Ann Brewbaker, of Williamsport, IN; sisters, Sue Royall (Steve) of Huntsville, NC and Martha Wooten (Gregg) of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren, Jaydon and Gannon; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff has returned to his home and a funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 18, at First Baptist Church, Mocksville, NC with Rev. Tim Perdue officiating. The family invites friends to visit with them at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Huntsville Methodist Church, Huntsville, with military graveside honors.
