Beloved matriarch Beatrice Arnold Clement, 89, of Mocksville, gained her wings on Thursday, August 5, 2021, peacefully in her home. Beatrice affectionally known as "Mrs. Bea," leaves behind a legacy of love that includes two devoted sons, Jimmy (RosaLee) Arnold and James (Sonya) Arnold, all of Mocksville; eleven cherished grandchildren, Beverly Dobson, Jeanettra Arnold, Alicia (Brian) Moye, Michael (Stephanie) Redmon, Sonya (Brent) Gregory, Latisha (Theodore) Fisher, Clifton "Shon" (Patricia) Redmon, Robert (Teresa) Arnold, Shunta Frazier, James (Yui) Arnold Jr., and Santana Arnold; 21 treasured great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, William Perry and Ella Magalene Rome Arnold; husband, Van "Bud" Clement; daughter, Shirley Easterling; and several brothers and sisters. Born Beatrice Arnold on April 19, 1932, she attended Davie County Schools. She had a work ethic few could match. Like generations of women, Beatrice was a self-employed, domestic worker because she believed that every good work glorifies God, she became the best at what she did. Never allowing the struggle of low wages to dim her light, she modeled for her children the pride that comes in an honest day's work and the importance of working hard. Beatrice devoted her life to God living by the biblical principles and ministering to others centered her life and became the foundation on which she raised her children. She was known for reminding all that she encountered on the goodness of God. Beatrice was a dedicated and life-long member of Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church in Mocksville and served on many committees. She served as the Mother of the Church, Director of Children's Church, church treasurer, president of the Pastoral Aid committee, member of the senior choir, usher board, Deacon/Deaconess and Missionary Board. Along with her passionate Christian service, she took extreme pride in participating in the church's annual Rainbow Tea. And was also known to break out into a praise dance when listening to her favorite gospel song, "Lord You Keep on Blessing Me". At her healthiest, she was known for her fashionable clothes and shoes. Beatrice also loved working outside in her yard, cooking, and sewing. In her late years, she could be spotted sitting on her front porch admiring her flowers and blooming trees, wishing her neighbors a good day, watching her grandchildren play and chatting with family and friends. Beatrice's legacy can be found in the rich relationships she spent a lifetime building and the seeds of kindness she planted along the way. She loved deeply and was deeply loved. Beatrice expressly requested that her family and friends not mourn her death with tears but find joy in God's promise that one day there will be no more death, pain or sorrow. (Revelation 21: 4) As the family honors her wishes, we want to thank everyone for the outpour of love, support and prayers. We will see her again. A Going Home Celebration will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 14, at Fairfield Baptist Church, with Rev. Marcus Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends, at the church, one hour prior to the service.
