Obituary

Barbara "Barbie" Gayle Beaver Waller, 77, of Woodleaf, died Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at her home.

She was born August 22, 1948, in Rowan County, to the late Kermit Sylvester and Mildred Louise Bost Beaver. Barbie had worked for Foster Drug Company for 26 years. Barbie loved to shop and was always on the lookout for a great find. She and Dale cherished their trips to Gatlinburg, where they made countless happy memories together. More than anything, Barbie treasured spending time with her family — those moments meant the world to her. Barbie had a strong faith in God. Barbie loved going to the Beach. Sometimes her honesty caught you off guard. She'd tell you when you were being wrong. She'd tell you when you were afraid. She'd tell you when you were settling for less than you deserved. But she'd also tell you when you were brave, when you were kind, when you were trying your best even if you didn't realize it yourself. That was the thing about her—she never hid her heart. If she was proud of you, you knew. If she was upset, you knew that too. But beneath every word, whether soft or sharp, there was something steady and unshakable love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Beaver, and Larry Beaver.

Survivors include her husband who she was married to for 41 years on February 14, 1985, William Dale Waller; children, Kelly Lindsay (Jim Brown), Keith Hengel (Robin), Stacey Myers (Dale), Shannon Dicarlo, and Gina Sproul (Brian); grandchildren, Chanse Hengel, Dillon Myers, Isaac Hengel, Jordan and Joshua Lindsay, Madison Myers, Logan Sproul, Kenadi Sproul, and Connor Dicarlo; great-grandchildren, Adrian Grimmett, Zara Kun, and Zaelyn Kun; a sister, Rachel Beaver Cartner; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, at Oakdale Baptist Church, Spencer, with Dr. Craig Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family invites friends to visit with them at the church one hour prior to the service.
