Mrs. Annie Margaret Dillard Lewis, age 92, transitioned from earth to glory on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Davie County on January 31, 1925, to the late William Harper Dillard and Juanita Foote Dillard. Annie Margaret was a graduate of Davie County Training School in Mocksville, NC. At an early age, she attended St. John AME Zion Church. She retired from Monleigh Garment Company in Mocksville with over thirty-two years of service. She enjoyed cooking and horticulture. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was affectionately called Bab, Rosie, Margie, and Granny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William Dillard, Knox Dillard, Robert Dillard, and Eugene Foote of Mocksville; seven sisters, Alice D. Patterson, Mary D. Holmes, Josephine D. Jones, Louise D. Lewis, Hazel D. Dalton, Carolyn D. Williams, and Evelyn J. Cornish; two brothers-in-law, RD Holmes and Calvin Jones; one grandson, Michael Lewis, Jr. Left to cherish her memories include three sons, Carson Bull Dog Lewis, Wilbert Ray Lewis, Sr., and Michael Lewis, all of Mocksville; two daughters, Margaret (Elliott) Wilkes and Geraldine (Jerry) Roberts; an extended daughter, Pastor Nettye I. Barber of Mocksville; one sister, Lazora Williams of Durham, NC; four grandsons, Glenn (Rosalyn) Wilkes, Gerald Roberts, Wilbert Ray Lewis, Jr., and Brandon Lewis; four granddaughters, Kim (Kennedy) McGovern, Angela Brown, Sharon McClaney, and Pamela Lewis; two step-granddaughters, Stephanie Lewis and Selena Lewis; one step-grandson, Jonathan Cole; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
