Woodleaf, NC Andrew J. Patterson, Jr., known as 'Andy' or 'Sonny', age 78, died May 10 at his residence. He was the son of the late Andrew Patterson Sr. Estella Ijames Patterson. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and later retired from Celanese, and also Livingstone College as a Security Guard. He was an active member of Liberty AME Zion Church. Andy loved working out in the yard and bowling until his health declined. He is survived by his devoted wife, Eveline Fowler Patterson of the home; three daughters, Marlene Jones of the home, Tracy (Sylvester) Culbertson of Cleveland, and Andrea (Bo) Frontis of Troutman; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Estella Pruitt and Eller Wease (Cornelius) Hargrove, both of Cooleemee; one brother, Charles (Mable) Patterson of Westbury, NY; a special friend who was like a son, Rev. James Milton; a devoted caretaker, Keisha Carter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
