Amy Lourae Smith Revels was born in Davie County on October 13, 1968, daughter of Mary Carolyn Smith and the late Virgil Gray Smith. She graduated from Davie High School in 1987, and was employed at Hanes Brands in Advance until her health declined. On September 29, 2011, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Revels and this union was blessed with one son. Amy loved photography, fishing, and baking. She had a strong love and passion for her son, Darrell Grayson Luke Revels, affectionately called 'Little Man' and 'Boo-Boo.' On July 14, 2013, she died in Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Revels of the home; her mother, Mary C. Smith of Mocksville; one son, Darrell Grayson Luke Revels; one brother, Virgil Smith of Clemmons; four sisters, Brenda Rivers, Emily (Roger) Stewart, Kathy (Gene) Rivers, and Cindy (Dale) Isaacs all of Mocksville; her mother-in-law, Mary Revels of Winston-Salem; her father-in-law, Jimmy Lee Revels of Mocksville; one sister-in-law, Tammy R. Carr; other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 17 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Advance. Eld. Barron Carr will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
