Obituary

Mrs. Amanda Leigh Overby Brown, 45, of Clemmons, died Thursday, April 1, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born April 9, 1974, in Guilford County. Mrs. Brown was a woman of strong faith and prayer was first and foremost. She could not have made it through all this without her prayer warriors. Mrs. Brown had been employed with Pacific Coast Feather Company as a sales consultant. She loved crafting and donated many of her projects to Cry Freedom Mission in Goldsboro and to battered womens shelters. Mrs. Brown was a cancer survivor. She had an amazing smile, was an inspiration to all those around her suffering as well and was a Rock Star. Amanda will always be Dougs keeper of the stars, even from that first date that ended with fireworks. She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Alan Overby. Survivors include her mother, Frankie Brooks Norman McNally of the home; her husband, Douglas Arthur Brown; a son, A1C James N. Brown of Seymour Johnson AFB, Goldsboro; and a stepdaughter, Amber Michelle Brown of Winston-Salem. A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be considered for Cry Freedom Mission, 3501 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534. www.lambertfuneralhomenc.com
