Albert Geter, 83, born April 4, 1931, departed this walk of life on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center following a period of illness. A native of Rowan County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Fred and Lucy Pharr Geter. Albert Geter retired from Burlington Mills in Mooresville, after forty years of service. He was a member of New Jerusalem Holiness Church in Woodleaf, where he also served on the Board of Directors. He was preceded in death by five brothers, William, Benjamin, J.W., John, and Nathaniel Geter; two sisters, Areta Allen and El Willie Barkley. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nora Geter of the home; one son, Albert Franklin (Brenda) Geter, of Woodleaf; two daughters, Deborah L. Geter of Woodleaf and Linda (Rodney) Gibson of Concord; one brother Willie (Maxine) Geter of Salisbury; one sister, Essie Ruth (Hallie) Leach of New Jersey; and four grandchildren, Kimberly, Joshua, Jeremy Geter, and Rodney L.
