Addie Bell, daughter of the late Lindsay and Zelma Flint, was born on August 13, 1925 in Davie County, North Carolina. She was the oldest of six daughters born to this union. She was united in holy matrimony to Elvie Bell, Sr. on July 15, 1943 and enjoyed 76 years of a beautiful marriage to her life partner. Four sons were birthed to this union. During her childhood years, she was educated in the public schools of Davie County, and graduated from Davie County Training School. She performed domestic work for the Ralph Ketner family in Salisbury, NC for many years and later worked at Canon Mills in China Grove, NC before retiring due to a back injury. During her adult years, she was a lifelong and active member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, where she served on the following ministries: Deaconess, Missionary, Usher, Church Secretary, as well as Sunday School Secretary and Teacher. She spent many hours and days knitting and crocheting with her sisters. She would sell some, but gave most away to the family, community, and youth in the church. Addie always made holiday seasons a very festive occasion while enjoying and feeding her family and friends by serving her delicious cakes and pies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Elvie Bell, Jr., and James Walter Bell; three sisters, Mildred Blackwell, Willie Mae Smoot, and Zelda Naylor. Early on Monday morning, July 1, 2019, like the breaking of a new day, God called home one of his angels, Addie Flint Bell.
