Mr. Heber Wentz, 74, of Mocksville, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at his home. He was born April 20, 1946, in Mecklenburg County, to the late James Paul and Martha Elizabeth Greene Wentz. At age 12, he had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He had retired from Duke Energy and had worked for Lowes Home Improvement in Mocksville. Mr. Wentz was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Charlotte. He was a people person, and was a great husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings. Survivors include his wife, Libby Wentz; two sisters, Marie Boyles and Pat Morris (Tom); a son, Joe Wentz (Cheryl); and a grandson, Nathan Hughes.
